“Prayoridad ta sa Pasacao an pag-ataman sa kapalibutan asin kalinigan para sa Pasaqueños na naglalaom sa satuyang marhay na serbisyo (The preservation of our environment and the cleanliness of Pasacao are among our priorities in our effort to better serve Pasaqueños),” Mayor Niño Tayco said in a Facebook post.
On October 7, Mayor Tayco led the Solid Waste Management Board Meeting which gathered representative of the Pasacao Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, Municipal Health Office, Department of Internal and Local Government, barangay chiefs, and other government agencies at the Emergency Operational Center in SigNature Park, Barangay Sta. Rosa del Norte.
During the meeting, the solid waste management plan of the municipality of Pasacao was reviewed and updated, with focus on the current issues prevailing in the town. The plans and programs on health and wellness were also discussed.
A project on organic farming in community gardens using composted biodegradable wastes collected from households of Pasacao was also discussed for future implementation in the 19 barangays of Pasacao.
This effort is still part of HATAW Pasacao, the flagship program of the administration of Mayor Tayco, which includes preservation of the environment through proper solid waste management and shift to environment-friendly practices and infrastructures, and climate change mitigation.
“We hope that by refining these programs and projects that we will soon implement, we will be able to create a cleaner, greener, and healthier Pasacao for every Pasaqueño,” Mayor Tayco added.
