
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 5 has recognized the Municipal Government of Pasacao with two separate awards for exemplary performance and outstanding achievements in local governance, Mayor Niño Tayco declared in recent social media post.
Mayor Tayco said Pasacao is an awardee under the High Performing Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) and High Performing Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC).
Mayor Tayco received these awards at the Aldaw Nin Honra: Regional Recognition Ceremony for 2024 Best Performing LGUs and Good Local Governance Champions cum Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa Regional Awarding held in October 30, 2025 in Marison Hotel, Legazpi City, Albay.
“This achievement is a testament to our continuous commitment to good governance, child protection, and community welfare,” Mayor Tayco said. He congratulated the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office/ LCPC Focal Person, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer, LGU employees, Sangguniang Bayan members and all Pasaqueños who continue to support the programs and initiatives of the municipal government of Pasacao.
Meanwhile, Barangay Dalupaon also bagged the 1st Runner-Up Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa Award – regional level.

In December, Pasacao is also set to receive the Gawad KALASAG Seal for Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and Humanitarian Assistance under the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and Offices.
Mayor Tayco said this is “proof that the Municipal Government of Pasacao, its officials and the Pasaqueños are knowledgeable on disaster response and management that is important in the protection of the lives of every resident.”
“I am grateful to my fellow officials, our own MDRRMC and stakeholders for ensuring that our disaster risk reduction and management capabilities and skills are always up to standards and in accordance with the current needs of our town,” Mayor Tayco said.
Just this October, Mayor Tayco led the Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment Result Presentation and MDRRM Plan Formulation in order to further understand the risks in the town related to natural disasters and climate change. He also led the conduct of the Earthquake Preparedness/Contingency Planning Workshop/Conference to update the town’s disaster preparedness plans and skills to better meet the needs of constituents.
