PASACAO, Camarines Sur – In the words of Mayor Niño Tayco on his Facebook post last week, the 13th Daruanak Summer Festival ended “with a SPLASH” on Saturday, May 16.
Pasaqueños and tourists were treated to a Foam Party at the Closing Ceremony at 5 p.m. in Sarimao Sunset Boulevard in Sarimao, Caranan. Hundreds came to the event to enjoy the food being offered from different food stalls occupied by local businesses in Pasacao and neighboring areas at the banchetto.
“Before we officially close this year’s biggest summer celebration, let’s make one final unforgettable night full of music, food with banchetto, energy, good vibes, and the wildest FOAM PARTY in town!” Mayor Tayco said in his post announcing the culmination of the summer festival that he first organized in 2013 during his very first term as mayor of Pasacao.
Hon. Mark T. Lapid, Chief Operating Officer of Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) joined the event as a guest of honor.
Mayor Tayco said the TIEZA Chief Operating Officer’s visit is “another remarkable moment for Pasacao” as the Municipal Government Unit continues “to strengthen tourism, cultural pride, and partnerships that open greater opportunities for every Pasaqueño.”
It can be recalled that in November last year, Mayor Tayco announced that TIEZA has pledged additional support for the realization of the Pasacao Riverine and Intertidal Mangrove Esplanade Experience (PRIME X) Business Plan, a project that will be completed through partnerships with TIEZA, Department of Tourism, and other stakeholders. PRIME X as an innovative and sustainable tourism development that will provide livelihood opportunities for Pasaqueños, spread awareness on the importance of conservation of mangrove forests, and strengthen climate change mitigation efforts.
Mayor Tayco expressed gratitude to the various organizations, Barangay and Sanggunian Kabataan officials, municipal employees, businesses, government agencies, men in uniform, local residents, youth, the academe, and everyone who supported the celebration of the 13th Daruanak Summer Festival.
